Privacy notice

This notice describes the personal VPS Backups utility operated by M. Furqon Rabbani. Contact: furqon2710@gmail.com.

Information accessed and purpose

The utility accesses Google Drive files and folders created through its authorization client to create, read, verify, restore, and maintain encrypted server backups. It uses the drive.file permission and does not request access to all existing Drive files.

Backup contents may include the owner’s server configuration, application settings, conversations, workspace files, and credentials. Restic encrypts backup contents and snapshot metadata on the server before transfer. Google Drive receives the encrypted repository and associated storage metadata.

Storage and access

Google authorization tokens and the backup encryption password are stored in permission-restricted files on the owner’s VPS. Temporary unencrypted snapshots and restore-test files may exist in restricted local directories. The owner should retain an independent private recovery-key copy.

Access to Google user data is used only for the backup and restore functions described here. The utility does not use Google user data for advertising or AI model training and does not sell it. Google processes repository storage as the selected storage provider.

Retention and deletion

The intended retention is seven daily, four weekly, and three monthly restore points; periods can overlap. Automatic retention applies after successful scheduled runs are enabled. Existing snapshots remain until retention or an owner-requested deletion removes them. The owner can delete the repository in Google Drive and remove local copies independently.

Revoking authorization

The owner can revoke Google access through their Google Account third-party connections settings. Revocation stops future authorized transfers; it does not itself delete existing backups. Deletion requests or questions may be sent to the contact above.

This website

This informational site has no account login, analytics scripts, or advertising cookies. The web server processes ordinary connection information needed to serve requests. Backups and credentials are not published by this site.
